Nanjing, April 21, 2016 – Magewell is proud to announce that it has successfully adopted Xilinx FPGA for Pro Capture Family video capture cards for one year. With the powerful FPGA by Xilinx, the capture cards are able to achieve better performance and have more functions.
Powered by the 28nm Artix-7 FPGA, the logic volume of a single video channel of Pro Capture Family is more than twice that of the previous generation of cards. A number of advanced functions were possible as a result of Xilinx FPGA, for example, up/down scaling, cropping, image adjustment, deinterlacing, OSD, etc. Moreover, those video processing are done by FPGA without the involvement of CPU, causing ZERO CPU usage. A highlight function of the Magewell cards is that the firmware can be upgraded so that the cards can be improved without changing the hardware. This is due to the highly programmable FPGA. Users can download the installer from Magewell official website and do it by themselves. In most cases, it is a free service.
“Choosing a high-quality FPGA is important for developing industry-leading capture cards. Pro Capture Family are designed to meet the professional’s need of high resolution, frame rate and advanced video processing functions. Also, when users try our devices, they will be impressed by how easy it is to use.” said Mr. Fei Ma, the Chief Technical Officer of Magewell.
“Xilinx is pleased that Magewell has selected the Artix®-7 for its Pro Capture AIO 4K Plus PCIe Capture Card,” said Ramesh Iyer, Director of Broadcast & Pro A/V market segment, Xilinx. “Magewell has selected Xilinx as its strategic partner of choice and is a key customer for our technology throughout China.”
Magewell is attending NAB 2016 on 18-21 April, 2016. Welcome to Booth SU15111 to learn more about Pro Capture cards. Magewell will showcase a brand new 4K60p capture card and demonstrate using Pro Capture Family on Mac OS X system.
