Tutorial 4: Add Devices to Control Hub

Read this tutorial to learn how to add a device to Control Hub so that you can remotely control it.

Prerequisites

  1. Get license from your local dealer.
  2. See this article for loading and activating your license.

Step 1. Apply for joining the Control Hub from device

  1. Access WebGUI of your device, then go to 'Control Hub' settings page.
    • For Ultra Stream, go to General > Cloud page from left navigator pane.
    • For others, go to System > Cloud page from navigator pane with administrative account.
  2. Click Register.
  3. Input Invitation code, control hub address and http port in the pop-up window.

    To ensure the communicate between your device and the control hub platform, your device should be able to ping the control hub address during the hosted period.

    Go to Set HTTPS for advanced security requirements.
  4. Save after configuration, then the device automatically sends a join request to Control Hub.

Step 2. Review the join request via Control Hub

  1. In Control Hub login page, sign up with administrative account and go to Devices > Pending Approval tab.
  2. Check the box before device in the Pending Approval page and choose Accept to approve or reject the request.

    You can select multiple devices at one time to batch approve or reject the requests.

Step 3. Check Control Hub state at device web UI

The device displays as the figures below when the join request has passed.

Step 4. Manage device via Control Hub

Approved devices are allowed to group, monitor, configure and maintain through Control Hub.
