Tutorial 5: Add Devices to a Channel

Read this tutorial to learn how to add registered devices to a Channel as input or output.

Prerequisites

  1. See this article for registering devices to the Control Hub.
  2. See this article for loading and activating your license.
  3. Here we create a channel named Channel‐1, and add a device named Channel‐1‐in as input, Channel‐1‐out as output. The input and output streams use default(RTMP) protocol.

Step 1. Access the Control Hub WebGUI

  1. Open the web browser on your PC/laptop/mobile client.
  2. Input the IP address of server where Control Hub docker is installed. By default, the address uses the HTTP protocol and has the http://ip-address format.
Note: If you need to change http port or use HTTPS, go to Settings > General page to specify an HTTP port or enable HTTPS and upload CA certificate and private key after login.
  3. In the SIGN IN fields, enter your account name and password.

Step 2. Create a channel

  1. Enter the Streaming > Channels page from the navigation pane.
  2. Click on at the upper right.
In the pop-up window, specify channel name as Channel‐1, then click OK to save your configuration.

Step 3. Setup your input.

  • Click button below Input in the Channel‐1 bar and select the device named Channel‐1‐in from Devices list.

Step 4. Setup your output

  • Click button below Output and select the device named Channel‐1‐out from Devices list.

  • Start your channel.

Toggle on the switch of Channel‐1 on the Streaming > Channels page.

Wait a few seconds then check the working status of the Channel‐1. You can click on the thumbnail preview area to get A/V preview. What's more, you can preview the video in full screen mode.
Check the A/V output on the Channel‐1‐out device.

Streaming separate audio and video is not yet supported.
