How to check the hardware version of Magewell product

Pro Capture Family, Eco Capture Family Method Ⅰ: Through device appearance The hardware version is printed on the PCB board. The format is REV-X(letter)X(number). For example, REV-A1. Method Ⅱ: Through driver panel (for Windows) Call the driver panel of capture card. Enter the Info tab page to view the Hardware version. Method Ⅲ: Through command line (for Linux) Run the following command in the Terminal to view the device information. For Pro Capture card, run: mwcap-info -i For Eco Capture card, run: mweco-info -i Under Device, view the Hardware version. USB Capture (Plus) Family Method Ⅰ: Through device appearance Check for the product serial number (S/N) at the back of your capture device. The first letter of the serial number stands for the hardware version. Method Ⅱ: Through USB Capture Utility Open USB Capture Utility V3. Enter the Info tab page to view the Hardware version. Pro Convert Family Log in Pro Convert Web UI. Enter the Dashboard tab page, and then view the Hardware version under the Pro Convert category.

How to check SDK version

SDK V3 under C:\Windows\System32, right-click the LibMWCapture.dll file and then click Properties. In the LibMWCapture.dll Properties dialog box, click Details and then view the File version. SDK V2 under C:\Windows\System32, right-click the LibXIStream2.dll file and then click Properties. In the LibXIStream2.dll Properties dialog box, click Details and then view the File version.

How to check the serial number of Magewell products

This topic describes how to check the serial number of various Magewell product series. Pro Capture Family, Eco Capture Family USB Capture (Plus) Family Ultra Stream / Ultra Encode Family Pro Convert Family Pro Capture Family, Eco Capture Family Method 1: On device package Find the serial number on the package of your capture card. Method 2: On device The stickers on the capture card are printed with serial number and P/N code. The first set of code is the serial number. Method 3: Through driver panel (for Windows) Call the driver panel of capture card. Enter the Info tab page to view the Serial number. Method 4: Through command line (for Linux) Run the following command in the Terminal to view the device information. For Pro Capture card, run: mwcap-info -i For Eco Capture card, run: mweco-info -i Under Device, view the Serial number. USB Capture (Plus) Family Method 1: On device package Find the serial number on the package of your capture device. Method 2: On device Check for the product serial number (S/N) at the back of your capture device. Method 3: Through USB Capture Utility This method applies when only one USB Capture is connected to the host. On the host to which USB Capture is connected, open USB Capture Utility V3. If multiple USB Capture devices are connected to the host, select a device at the top of USB Capture Utility. Enter the Info tab page to view the Serial number. Ultra Stream / Ultra Encode Family Method 1: On device package Find the serial number on the package of Ultra Stream / Ultra Encode. Method 2: On device Find the serial number on the back of your device. Method 3: Through Web UI Log in to the Web UI of your device. Access the About tab page, and check Serial Number in the About area. Pro Convert Family Method 1: On device package Find the serial number on your device package. Method 2: On device Find the serial number on the back of your device. Method 3: Through Web UI Log in to Pro Convert Web UI. Enter the Dashboard tab page, and then view the Serial number under the Pro Convert category.

How to check the driver version of Magewell product

Method 1: Through driver panel (for Windows) Call the driver panel of capture card. Enter the Info tab page to view the driver version. Method 2: Through command line (for Linux) Run the following command in the Terminal to view the device information. For Pro Capture card, run: mwcap-info -i For Eco Capture card, run: mweco-info -i Under Device, view the driver version. Method 3: Through command line (for MacOS) For Pro Capture card: Run the following command in the Terminal: kextstat | grep ProCapture The numbers enclosed in the parentheses after com.magewell.ProCaptureDriver stands for the driver version.

Will the recorded file be damaged if the input signal is lost during recording?

Signal loss will not damage the recording file. However, during the period of losing input signal, the captured images will be all black.

Do Magewell products support HANC/VANC data extraction?

Both the Pro Capture and Eco Capture Family's SDI capture cards support HANC/VANC data extraction. Note that you must use the Magewell SDK to do this.

Short FAQs about Eco Capture

Are there any macOS drivers for Eco Capture devices? No. Are Eco Capture devices compatible with NVIDIA Xavier? Yes. The driver of Xaviver platform is the same as the driver of TX2 platform. Can I use the Eco Capture card on a computer/laptop via the Lightning to M.2 adapter? Yes. Note that macOS is not supported because currently Magewell does not provide a macOS driver for Eco Capture cards. Do Eco Capture cards support video cropping? Video cropping is not currently supported. Can Eco Capture card be connected through the mSATA interface on the main board? No. What is the type of M.2 interface of Eco Capture card? Magewell Eco Capture cards use M.2 M Key interfaces. Is it necessary to use the standard Magewell heat sink? No. If you don't want to use the standard heat sink, you should make sure that the cooling design of the chassis is good enough so that the core temperature of the capture card is lower than 85℃. What operating systems does Eco Capture driver support? Eco Capture drivers are currently available for Windows and Linux. What are the major differences between Eco Capture and Pro Capture products? The biggest difference between Eco Capture and Pro Capture cards is that there is no memory chip on the Eco Capture card. Therefore, the working mode of Eco Capture card has the following characteristics: (a) no support for private interface's low-latency capture mode; (b) no support for OSD; (c) no support for private interface's image cropping; (d) no support for private interface's aspect ratio conversion mode selection. Does Magewell provide SDK for Eco Capture? The latest version of the SDK supports Eco Capture cards.

Use the driver panel of capture card to view the PCIe bandwidth

Call the driver panel of capture card. Enter the Info tab page to view the PCIe speed and PCIe width.

Do Magewell HDMI capture devices support CEC, HDR, or Camera Link?

Not support CEC. Pro Capture HDMI 4K Plus, Pro Capture HDMI 4K Plus LT, Pro Capture Dual HDMI 4K Plus LT and Pro Capture AIO 4K Plus support HDR. (only HDR10 standard). Not support Camera Link.

How to connect Eco Capture HDMI 4K Plus M.2 with HDMI Adapter

Connect the devices Align the plug connectors (CABLINE-VS connector) with the receptacle connectors on the Eco Capture HDMI 4K Plus M.2 and HDMI adapter and insert them parallel into the receptacle connectors . Caution: Please don't use PULL BAR for insertion of connector. There are possibilities to cause PULL BAR deformation or the rotation axis dropping out from the connector.  Turn the PULL BAR to the receptacle connector side and lock it.  The devices are connected. Un-mate the connector  Lift the PULL BAR and release the lock with the receptacle connector. Then turn the  PULL BAR to parallel to the PCB. Pull the connector out horizontally in parallel to PCB. Caution: Please don't use PULL BAR for un-mating the connector. There are possibilities to cause PULL BAR deformation or the rotation axis dropping out from the connector.
