Function of SmartEDID
When SmartEDID is enabled, the capture device intelligently selects the EDID to be sent to the video source based on the input capability of itself and the loop-through device to ensure that both devices can work properly. Sample scenario Video source: PS4 Pro, support up to 4K 4:4:4 output. Capture device: USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus, support up to 4K 4:4:4 input. Loop-through device: monitor, support up to 4K 4:2:0 input. If SmartEDID is enabled, the capture device will send the EDID of the monitor, which has lower input capability, to the video source after comparison. In this case, the PS4 Pro outputs 4K 4:2:0 video so that both devices can work properly. If SmartEDID is not enabled, the capture device will directly send its own EDID to the video source. In this case, the PS4 Pro outputs 4K 4:4:4 video, which exceeds the maximum input of the monitor and consequently leads to no output from it.
