Are USB capture (Plus) devices compatible with PS4 Pro?

Yes. Please make sure that the HDCP and HDR functions are turned off before capturing signals, otherwise the capture device can't work properly. To turn off HDCP and HDR in PS4-Pro HDCP: go to "Settings > System > Enable HDCP" to turn off the HDCP function. HDR: go to "Settings > Sound and Screen > Video Output Settings > HDR" to turn off the HDR function. Will device usability be affected by different voltages in different countries?

No. The global voltage of USB 3.0 interface is 5 V.

Can multiple USB Capture (Plus) devices be connected on one computer?

Yes. To ensure that the bandwidth won't be affected, make sure each USB capture device can be connected to an independent USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller. In Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus Controller, and then check USB composite devices under each USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller. For USB Capture Gen 2 Family and USB Capture Plus Family devices, you can use USB Capture Utility V3 to view current USB speed .

Do USB Capture (Plus) devices support USB 2.0 interface?

USB Capture (Plus) devices are compatible with the USB 2.0 interface, but their performance will be affected by the limited bandwidth, so we recommend that you extend the interface to USB 3.0 with an expansion card.

Differences between the first and second generation USB Capture devices

You can distinguish between the first and second generation USB capture devices by the following: The back of the second generation USB capture devices are engraved with "Gen 2" words. Compare the part number (or known as “P/N”) of the second generation product on the web product page with that of your device. If they are same, your device is a second generation product. Otherwise, your device is a first generation product. USB Capture HDMI The P/N of the first generation USB Capture HDMI (or known as “USB Capture HDMI Gen 1”) is 32011; the P/N of the second generation USB Capture HDMI (or known as “USB Capture HDMI Gen 2”) is 32060. Gen 2 product supports up to 2K resolution while Gen 1 product supports up to 1920x1200 resolution. Gen 2 product is compatible with the free USB Capture Utility V3 tool provided by Magewell. The tool includes functions such as viewing and setting capture-related parameters, automatic firmware upgrade, and exporting technical support with one click. Gen 2 product consumes less power than Gen 1 product. USB Capture SDI The P/N of the first generation USB Capture SDI (or known as “USB Capture SDI Gen 1”) is 32021; the P/N of the second generation USB Capture SDI (or known as “USB Capture SDI Gen 2”) is 32070. Gen 2 product supports up to 2K resolution while Gen 1 product supports up to 1920x1080 resolution. Gen 2 product has better compatibility with SDI signals, including both 3G-A and 3G-B signals. Use USB Capture Utility V3 to change the orientation of captured image

In the Video tab page, look for Specific Effect under CAPTURE, and then select the Flip or Mirrorcheck box to achieve your desired orientation.

Use USB Capture Utility V3 to edit EDID

Use USB Capture Utility V3 modify EDID In the HDMI tab page of USB Capture Utility V3, click Timing to open the EDID Detailed Timing dialog box. In the EDID Detailed Timing dialog box, select a timing format in the Mode list, and then set the following parameters: Horizontal Active: horizontal pixels of the resolution Vertical Active: vertical pixels of the resolution Vertical Scan Frame Rate: frame rate Use a third-party editor to modify EDID In the HDMI tab page of USB Capture Utility V3, click Export under EDID to save the original EDID to the local; use a third-party editor to modify EDID; click Import to import the custom EDID into the capture device; clear the SmartEDID check box.

Use USB Capture Utility V3 to crop captured video

In the Video tab page, select the Crop input check box, and then consecutively click the arrows inside the four text boxes to adjust the video display area. The picture below shows how to crop video when the capture resolution is 1920x1080. The ordinates of point (0,0) and point (1920,1080) correspond to the four values of the Crop input option.
